One of the best things about being a Stylecraft Blogstar is all the support you get from Stylecraft and one of the ways they give that support is through meetups. The last meetup was back on February 3rd, but I’ve been putting off writing about it because there was a mishap with the delivery of some new yarn I have to tell you about. I did eventually get the yarn and it’s dreamy! More on that later…
The international Blogstars – like me – get to Skype in, and it’s just so cool to be in a meeting that spans 4 continents! There are just a couple draw backs to that super-cool, inter-continental meeting. I was, admittedly, pretty sleepy. The meeting was a 4am my time. Ok, the meeting was at 3am my time, but I apparently didn’t do the math correctly, or I forgot daylight savings or something. I was a little late. They forgave me.
We did some catching up and talked about ideas for the future. Then we got down to business.
The first great new thing is that we have a new Blogstar – Helen Shrimpton of Crystals and Crochet. And, if you don’t recognize her name immediately, you’ll likely know of (or have made) her famous Mandala Madness afghan. Helen and I have known each other and chatted for a while – we even started designing right around the same time – but it’s so exciting to get to work more closely together.
Helen is starting her Blogstar career off with a big bang. The Cosmic CAL was just announced and a sneak peek released {click here to find out more}. I have to tell you… I’ve seen the whole thing and it is AMAZING. I mean absolutely stunning! Helen designs gorgeous crochet, but this one knocked me right off my feet. Four different yarn packs are available and each is more beautiful than the next. Check back to Helen’s website this Friday, March 2nd, for the full introductory post.
And last, but certainly not least, NEW YARN! Yes, Stylecraft has some new yarn now available, I’ve got my hands on it, and over the next few days I’m going to tell you all about it. I was originally going to tell you in this blog, but once I dug my hook in I realized I have so much more to say about it than I initially thought and it turned into a whole big thing.
So that’s it for today. Stay tuned for some yarn reviews!
